Live!CMS Release 3 Preview

The third release of our Content Management System Live!CMS is about to be released soon. The most important improvements compared to the current release R2.7 will be:

• New Frontend für the document editor:
  • Improved selection of components and containers
  • Drag&Drop support for components
  • document wide Copy/Cut & Paste of components and containers
  • Introduction of "Shared Components"
  • Extension of the standard component library
  • Improved capabilities to edit components, selective editing of individual component properties
  • Preview for changes to be made
  • Undo and redo functionality, history log for component processing
  • Dynamic insertion of new components with prototypes (default values for component properties)
• Revision of text-editor and file explorer:
  • Integration of a new text editor and a new file explorer
  • Improved integration of the file explorer into the CMS (e.g. assignment of access rights)
  • New file browser to facilitate the selection of graphics
• New layout: "table-layout" similiar to conventional tables, will get standard layout
• Replication of project versions or individual documents, even between different instances (e.g. sandbox and productive version)
• Improved search capabilities, integration of a dedicated search engine
• Expansion of the automatic sitemaps, supports XML Sitemap Protocol 0.9 (http://sitemaps.org)
• Show and hide individual components or whole documents, even temporary
